Problem with a deal? Let us know.

For years, money expert Clark Howard has talked about buying his wife flowers well in advance of Valentine’s Day to avoid the obscene price hike on roses leading up to the holiday.

“My wife and I have a longstanding tradition where I give her roses about two weeks before Valentine’s Day to avoid the markup at the last minute,” Clark says.

Aldi for beautiful flowers? Yes!

On April 30, I bought my wife a lovely boutique of flowers just because.

The price? $3.99!

Aldi flowers

The thing that’s amazed us about the flowers is how well they’ve held up. Here we are on the eighth day and they’re as a beautiful as they were the first day β€” just like my wife of 11 years.

With only basic care β€” cutting the stems on an angle before putting them in the vase, using the little packet of flower food that comes with the blooms, etc. β€” this bouquet pulled an Energizer bunny on us; it’s just keep going and going and going…

Aldi flowers make great gifts for teachers and graduates too

$3.99 is Aldi’s everyday price on cut flowers. With a price point that low, this is the kind of splurge you can afford to do early and often before any major holiday or event.

Of course, this week you probably won’t pay $3.99. In fact, you’re more likely to pay a minimum of $9.99 for cut flowers at Aldi leading up to Mother’s Day.

But now that we’re nearing the end of the school year in many parts of the country, you might consider waiting until the prices go back down to $3.99 and then snatching up some bouquets to pass out as gifts to graduates, teachers, etc.

You sure can’t beat the price!
