Save $20 on the Echo Dot or Google Home Mini

As part of this year’s holiday deals, Best Buy and other retailers are offering the Amazon Echo Dot for $29.99. Amazon is also selling it for this price right now, though it’s back in stock on December 23. This is the lowest price yet!

The 2nd generation Echo Dot “is a hands-free, voice-controlled device that uses Alexa to play music, control smart home devices, make calls, send and receive messages, provide information, read the news, set alarms, read audiobooks from Audible, and more,” according to Amazon.

To compete, Google is offering its Google Home Mini for $1 less at $29, a savings of $20. Target and other retailers are also offering it for this price. The Google Home Mini has many of the same features of the Echo Dot, except it’s powered by the Google Assistant.

According to Best Buy, “Google Home Mini is powered by the Google Assistant, so you can ask it questions and tell it to do things. Just start with ‘Ok Google’ to get answers from Google, tackle your day, enjoy your entertainment, and control your smart home.”

Clark and his family have purchased both to compare, and the winner in their home is Google Home! However, many other people prefer the Alexa-enabled Echo Dot, especially if they have other Amazon devices they enjoy.

If you’re considering either of these devices for a gift and you’re concerned about shipping speeds, select the in-store pickup option at stores that have brick and mortar locations.
