Switch to T-Mobile now and get $420

The battle of the wireless carriers is on and it’s about to get ugly for them — but great for you and your wallet!

Switch to T-Mobile now and get $420 total in bill credits

December is the month for people to dump their carriers and change their cell phone provider. So consider this an early Christmas present from T-Mobile…

Effective December 16, T-Mobile will give AT&T customers ONE FREE YEAR of DirecTV Now when they activate two lines and bring their number to T-Mobile ONE.

T-Mobile will provide a $35 monthly bill credit for 12 months – up to $420 total – to cover the annual cost of DirecTV Now. (The two lines you bring to T-Mobile must remain active and in good standing to redeem this credit.)

But wait…won’t you lose the ability to stream DirecTV Now if you’re not an AT&T customer?

Not so fast, says T-Mobile chief John Legere.

“AT&T wants you to think DirecTV is theirs exclusively, but that’s a load of crap,” he notes in a press release. “Both DirecTV NOW and the DirecTV apps stream free on T-Mobile with a faster, more advanced network that covers nearly every American.”

“AT&T is so distracted by their new businesses and DirecTV that they continue to ignore their 110 million wireless customers. Luckily, the Un-carrier’s here to show them how to actually take care of customers!”

What this means for your TV watching

In addition to pocketing the sweet $420 in bill credits, the net effect of T-Mobile’s offer is that customers on its Simple Choice plans can watch DirecTV Now programming (480p) without using their high-speed data buckets.

It’s the same model T-Mobile uses for its own Binge On offering, which allows you to watch as much video as you want on your phone or other mobile device and not have it count against a data cap.

So T-Mobile is definitely putting its money where its mouth is with this offer!

Here’s where you learn more if you’re interested in dropping AT&T and signing up with T-Mobile.
