Editor’s note: MoviePass is currently experiencing an avalanche of customer service issues. On the 2/14 radio show, Clark calls the service a “hazard and an opportunity,” since some people have been very happy with the service and the value they receive, while others have experienced “customer-no-service.” We are not recommending MoviePass to anyone at this time due to these issues.

Listen to Clark’s current take on MoviePass below and read more about what’s happening with MoviePassย here.

Save big on going to the movies!

Movie ticket prices have gotten expensive. But there’s a service that has made a big change to the movie industry at an incredible bargain. It’s called MoviePass, and it allows you to watch one movie per day for just $7.95 a month! In addition to being able to watch one movie in theaters every day of the year, this deal also includes unlimited streaming of Fandor’s library of 5,000+ movies.

With MoviePass, you can watch new releases in over 91% of theaters across the country (over 4,000 theaters) including AMC, Cinemark and Regal in addition to independent chains.ย However, there is one caveat to the low priceย โ€” and that is privacy.

How it works: Once you buy MoviePass, you’ll get a card within 7 to 10 business days that looks like a MasterCard. Then, when you want to see a movie, buy tickets in advance through the MoviePass appย (available for select theaters) or show up at an eligible theater to watch your movie with your MoviePass credit card. Note that you’ll need a smartphone to be able to use MoviePass, since it requires an app.

Annette who volunteers in Clark’s Consumer Action Center has tried MoviePass. This is what she thinks of the service:

“It’s a cheap way to go see movies!! All you have to do is see one a month and it’s paid for. And I don’t have any regrets in case the movie I watched wasn’t that great. I can be the cool mom and take my kids to movies whenever I want to!”ย
Note:ย This is the one-year deal for $115.35. If you need to cancel your account, go to MoviePass’ website here!
