Veterans Day is fast approaching â€“ a day in which we remember and honor those who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Although we can never express our gratitude enough, many companies are providing free or discounted goods and services to both veterans and active-duty service members as a small token of appreciation. (And if you’re a veteran or member of the military, we have a free financial guide to help you get your finances in tip-top shape!) 

Here is a list of some of the best deals being offered throughout the week in honor of Veterans Day.

Free admission for veterans

  • 9/11 Memorial and Museum: Veterans receive free museum entry November 8-12 and half-price tickets for two family members.
  • Aquarium of the Pacific: Free admission on Veterans Day for veterans and military personnel with military ID.
  • Boston Duck Tours: Veterans, active military and first responders ride free November 6-10.  Dependents receive discounted $10 tickets. Proof of service or employment is required.
  • B&B for Vets: Receive a complimentary one-night stay on and around Veterans Day with military ID.
  • Colonial Williamsburg: Get one complimentary admission ticket per year (and as many as three direct dependents). Retired military and Veterans qualify for 50% discount on single-day tickets or on annual passes for up to five direct dependents.
  • Harley-Davidson Museum: On November 10-12 Harley-Davidson Museum® will offer free Museum entry for all active Military, veterans and their families.
  • Des Moines Botanical Center: Veterans get in free on November 11.
  • Killington: All active duty, retired and honorably discharged members of the U.S. Military who visit Killington on Veterans Day will receive a complimentary lift ticket plus being eligible for the Killington/Pico Express Card.
  • Knott’s Berry Farm: Active, retired or veteran U.S. military personnel may receive free admission for themselves and 1 guest (maximum of 2 complimentary admissions will be issued.) Show your Military I.D. card at a Knott’s Berry Farm ticket booth November 1 – 16 and November 27 – December 15.
  • Main Event: Veterans and active duty receive one free entree and $10 FUNcard on November 11 until 5pm.
  • Mount Vernon: Free admission for military/veterans on November 11 from 9am – 4pm.
  • National Parks: Get fee-free entrance on November 11 and 12. This is for everyone!
  • National WWI Museum and Memorial: Admission is free for veterans and active duty military personnel November 10-12. Admission for the general public is half off.
  • National WWII Museum: Veterans get free admission on November 11.
  • New Mexico Museum of Space History: Veterans and active military, along with spouses and up to two children, get free admission on November 11.
  • Newseum: Veterans, plus one guest, receive free admission November 10-12.
  • Pro Football Hall of Fame: Veterans and active military, plus one guest, receive free entry during the entire month of November.
  • Queen Mary: Free admission for all active service members and veterans. Special discounts will also be offered for family members. Valid November 11.
  • Six Flags Over Georgia:  The park will be hosting Military Appreciation Days November 11 and 12. Admission is complimentary for active military members and up to three dependents. For deployed service members, a spouse and up to three dependents can receive complimentary admission with a current military ID card. Active service members can purchase an unlimited amount of additional tickets for family members or friends at half price. Veterans can receive one free admission ticket and purchase an unlimited amount of additional tickets for family members or friends at half price.
  • Sunset Zoo: All guests receive free admission in honor of American soldiers and their families. This is valid November 11.
  • The Billy Graham Library: Military veterans of all ages are invited to the Veterans Day Breakfast and Tour at the Billy Graham Library on Friday, November 10 from 8-10am. Register here.
  • Thomas Jefferson Monticello: Free admission for veterans and active duty military Friday, November 10, 2016 – 8:30am to Sunday, November 12, 2016 – 5:00pm.
  • USS Midway Museum: Free admission for active military, veterans and their families on November 11 with a Veterans Day celebration.
  • Veteran Ticket Foundation: This is a way for veterans to receive free tickets to events!
  • World of Coca-Cola: Admission is free year-round for veterans and active military, but half-price general admission tickets will be available for their friends and family November 2-12.

Retail deals for veterans

  • Big Lots: U.S. military veterans can save 11% in stores on November 11.
  • Cost Plus World Market: As part of the U.S. Armed Forces Appreciation Event, running November 9 – 12, veterans, active military and military spouses receive 25% off an entire store purchase. In-store only. Excludes alcohol sales. Military ID required at time of purchase.
  • Dick’s Sporting Goods: Save $20 off your order of $100 or more through November 11.
  • Dollar General: The discount retailer will provide an 11% discount on all qualifying purchases on November 11 for veterans, active military and their families.
  • Great Clips: Visit a Great Clips location on November 11 for a free haircut or a free haircut card to use at a later date.
  • The Home Depot: Receive a 10% discount for all veterans on November 11. This discount is offered year-round to active military and retirees, upon request.
  • Kohl’s: Take $10 off when you spend $25 or more with code VETSDAY on November 10.
  • Macy’s: Save an extra 20% with coupon code VETS, or save $10 off your sale and clearance priced purchase of $25 or more with coupon code VETS25. Some exclusions apply.
  • Oakley: Get an extra 10% off all standard issue eyewear on November 11 and 12.
  • Publix: Save 10% on groceries on November 11 with military ID.
  • Sport Clips: Select stores will be offering complimentary haircuts on November 11 for all active duty military and veterans.
  • Target: All military personnel, veterans and military families are eligible for a 10% discount November 7 – 11.
  • Toys R Us/Babies R Us: All customers with a valid proof of service will receive 15% off in-store purchases November 4-11.
  • Walgreens: Save 20% on all eligible, regular-priced items for veterans, active service, and military families with Balance® Rewards card and proof of service. Valid in-store only.

Deals supporting veterans

  • Cracker Barrel: From October 30 to November 11, Cracker Barrel will donate 20% of the proceeds of eligible online and in-store purchases of Lodge Cookware to Operation Homefront. The proceeds will be used to help provide holiday meals to military families.
  • Starbucks: Purchase a Veterans Day Starbucks Card or eGift and Starbucks will contribute $5 to veterans organizations, including Team RubiconTeam RWB and The Mission Continues.
  • Texas Roadhouse: Purchase a limited edition Homes for Our Troops gift cards and Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% back to the Home for Our Troops organization.
