7 places to find the best deal on luggage

If you’re been listening to consumer champ Clark Howard for any period of time, you’ll know that two of his biggest passions include finding deals and travel. And in Clark’s world, there is no such thing as travel without finding a deal!

Clark often gets asked, “Where can you find the best deal on luggage? Here are a few places he looks to find a great price on a lasting piece of luggage that can escort you to any dream destination.

Get a great deal on luggage at these stores!

Tuesday Morning

Clark has talked before about Tuesday Morning as a great place to find deals. Tuesday Morning is a discount retailer that has grown to over 700 locations across the country, with deals on furniture, toys, crafts, and of course, luggage. Clark says to check out the clearance section to find a bargain on luggage.

T.J. Maxx & Marshalls

If you ever visit either of these two sister stores, you’re sure to find deals at both. With over 2,200 stores between the two brands, T.J. Maxx & Marshalls have become a hot spot for bargain shoppers everywhere, and you can expect to find deals on clothing, jewelry, shoes, accessories, beauty and makeup, housewares and more, in addition to handbags and luggage.

Recently, T.J. Maxx had several styles of hardside luggage for $50 and under!

eBags

eBags.com is another great place to check for savings on luggage when you shop the clearance deals. eBags has a clearance section called Steals of the Week with savings of up to 70%, in addition to Extreme Deals, with even more savings after applying a coupon code. eBag’s store on eBay is another way to save even more on a great piece of luggage!

Costco

Clark is a big fan of shopping at Costco, especially for Kirkland Signature items. Kirkland Signature is Costco’s store brand, and it’s one of the most popular store brands out there!

Clark has a Kirkland Signature piece of luggage that he loves to use for travel. It normally retails for $99.99 at Costco, but sometimes you can find it for $79.99 as a part of Costco’s monthly ad.

In addition, in most Costco stores, you can find a carry-on piece of luggage that should work with even the cheapest of airline carriers. The Ful carry-on is just $29.99 and measures 12″ x 16″ x 8,” but if you’d like a slightly larger carry-on, the CIAO! 20″ hardside carry-on is just $29.99.

eBay

Here at ClarkDeals.com, we often find great deals on luggage at eBay. But, you have to grab them quick, before they sell out! Some of the best deals we’ve found include a Travelers Club Chicago 20″ hardside carry-on luggage for $30 which we’ve seen for as low as $25 with free shipping.

Many of these deals are available through official sellers such as Samsonite or eBags selling on eBay.com. Always remember to check seller reviews on eBay before purchase, and do not buy anything below a 97% positive feedback score!

Macy’s

Sometimes, Macy’s will have incredible clearance deals on luggage. For example, Sarah on our team found a Travel Select Kingsway 4-piece luggage set for just $50. That’s a steal!

Additionally, you can always take a look at Macy’s Backstage, Macy’s discount store, to find rock-bottom deals that have been marked down significantly after being at a Macy’s retail location.

Amazon

Though Amazon doesn’t always have the best deal, we do see luggage deals on occasion, specifically for packing cubes that can make life so much easier when you’re trying to fit everything in to your carry-on to avoid checked bags fees. However, though we haven’t seen many deals on full-sized luggage at Amazon compared to other stores, Amazon is a great place to check for other travel essentials such as travel pillows, electric adapters, passport holders, travel bags and more.

To save the most at Amazon, remember to comparison shop, use CamelCamelCamel to check price history, and search the item on Fakespot.com to check for any fake reviews.

Final thought

One thing to remember about shopping for luggage is to do your research before buying. By searching online, you can comparison shop to make sure you’re getting the very best deal, and you can also check customer ratings on a particular piece of luggage to see if it’s an item that has served its owner well and held up over time. Then, when that cheap travel deal pops up, all you have to do is book your trip and say, “Bon voyage!”
