Sprint’s announcement of its new $15/month Unlimited Kickstart plan has made big waves in the wireless world.

This is just about the lowest price ever on an unlimited cell phone plan from one of the Big 4 players — a group that’s rounded out by AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

Yet if you like that $15 price point, Sprint is not your only choice in the market. The one thing to keep in mind is that you’ve got to know yourself and how much data you’re going to need, because some of the plans below are severely restricted on that count.

FreeUP Mobile

With its starter data plan, FreeUP offers 500 Wi-Fi calling minutes and 1GB of data for $15. But there are some caveats you should know about with this service, too. Read about them here.

Mint Mobile

Mint Mobile offers 2 GB of data and unlimited talk and text for $15/month…the only catch being that you have to buy a full year of service for $180 to get this rate.

Red Pocket Mobile

Republic Wireless

The entry level plan from Republic Wireless is $15 for unlimited talk and texting. You can add data for an optional charge, or you can just use WiFi-only data to maximize every bit of value out of this plan.

TracFone offers one of the cheaper prepaid plans out there. Every 30 days, you get 200 minutes, 500 texts and 500 MB data for $15.

Senior citizens, in particula,r seem to have gravitated towards this provider.
