Unlimited plans: Sprint vs. Verizon vs. T-Mobile vs. AT&T

Already priced lower than its competitors, Sprint has decided to add HD-quality streaming video and 10GB of mobile hotspot data per month to the unlimited plan.

The wireless carrier also says it saves consumers 50% off Verizon and AT&T’s unlimited rates for four lines.

Sprint’s unlimited plan is $50 a month for the first line and $40 for the second line. The third, fourth and fifth lines are no extra charge. The promotional pricing lasts through March 2018.

Here’s a comparison that’s featured on Sprint’s website:

As part of this offer, Sprint says new customers can lease the iPhone 7 for $0 monthly payments for 18 months with a qualifying trade-in. These devices are eligible:

  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • Samsung GS7
  • GS7 edge
  • GS6
  • GS6 edge
  • Note 5
  • LG V20
  • G5
  • Moto Droid 2

Sound familiar? Verizon has a free smartphone offer for its unlimited plans as well.

And it’s really Verizon’s decision to launch an unlimited plan that led T-Mobile and now Sprint to respond. AT&T has also expanded its unlimited plan, dropping the requirement for pay TV service.
