If you love all the deals that Costco Wholesale has to offer but don't like standing in long lines at the warehouse club, there’s a new service that may come in handy for you.

Shipt, a member-based online grocery delivery service, is adding Costco to its list of partners.

How to get your Costco order delivered to your home

For an annual fee of $99, Shipt members have access to unlimited free deliveries from select retailers — and orders can arrive as soon as one hour after it's placed online.

In a statement released Tuesday, Shipt announced that it plans to expand its services to 50 markets and over 30 million households by the end of the year. As of March 21, delivery of Costco merchandise is only available in the Tampa area.

“We founded Shipt to simplify the grocery shopping experience, and are pleased to give our dedicated members access to unmatched savings as an extension of their Shipt memberships,” said Bill Smith, founder and CEO of Shipt. “As we continue to scale Shipt on a national level, we look forward to offering more options for delivery to our Florida members today, and to Shipt members across the country in the future.”

In addition to the $99 annual membership fee, Shipt pricing varies from in-store prices by about $5 on a $35 order, a company spokesperson confirmed in an email to Clark.com.

So while Shipt can save you some time, the convenience will cost you — and a few extra bucks here and there can really add up over time.

Over the next two years, Clark said you can expect many more companies like Shipt to offer various forms of mobile shopping with local delivery or pickup options.

And based on the consumer experience, only the best services will survive.
