It wasn’t so many years ago that flying up to Alaska hovered near $1,000 for peak summer trips. But round-trip economy fares now fall in the $600 and below range when booking with Alaska Airlines from Atlanta.
Here are some sample one-way rates from ATL:
- $235 – $270 Sitka
- $239 – $278 Juneau
- $235 – $278 Ketchikan
- $280 – $330 Anchorage
- $285 – $310 Fairbanks
These low rates are in Basic Economy which permits one carry-on bag. The first checked bag is from $35 each way. This level of fare does not permit for an advance seat selection or ticket changes. Upgrading to a Main Cabin Economy fare is about $100 more each direction. Perks include advance seat selection, and one free ticket change (fare difference may apply). Checked bag fees start from $35 each way. Curious about First Class rates? They start a bit over $700 each way.
Alaska Airlines serves each destination with a stop and flight change in their hub at Seattle-SeaTac SEA.
These discount rates do not have a ticket-by date but you can expect to see these prices stick around for summer — or until sold out.
Expedia now offers bundled Alaska Airlines airfare, auto rental, land and activity packages. Watch out for cancellation penalties for each component of your trip. And remember to buy trip insurance from a separate source — not Expedia.
