The Acela Express is Amtrak’s flagship service along the Northeast Corridor in the Northeastern United States between Washington DC and Boston that makes 14 intermediate stops, including Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York City.

What’s the difference between Acela and NE Regional? Frequent riders are willing to pay more for Acela Express, but that may be due to a hefty business travel allowance. The route might be 15-25 minutes quicker. Budget travelers should stick with the lower NE Regional fares unless the price difference is 10% or more – then go Acela for the slightly more comfortable seat.
