For the past several years, Team Clark has stuck to ignoring the paltry offers of 15% to 25% savings on travel during Black Friday and Cyber Week. You will often see this level of discount offered throughout the year, so don’t get too wrapped up in the hype! We present you here with what we see are substantial savings.

Many offers will come with some type of catch such as blackout dates or minimum stay requirements. But if you can land 40%-50% off on lodging or tours, consider it a deal. Just remember a few important things when it comes to travel deals: Do not prepay your stay — unless it is for an immediate stay and you’re certain you’ll be there. Another exception is a cruise where a big chunk of the fare will be required upfront. And always check the company cancel and/or change policies and print out a copy for future reference. Keep in mind that some of these offers will not display on a website until the big sale day!

Travel Deal Tuesday

Tuesday, November 28 is Travel Deal Tuesday — a shopping event where consumers can expect to see more deals on travel than any other day in the post-Thanksgiving sales period. The year 2022 saw nearly 78% more deals than Cyber Monday and 2x more deals than Black Friday. Last year travelers got well over 60% off trips to Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, London, Lisbon and more.

Hopper.com detects an average of 20 deals per second this year — that’s 42% more than usual. Hopper will have 35-50% off over 10,000 hotels in 80 destinations around the world on Travel Deal Tuesday. See a few of the offerings now at Hopper.com.

Delta Air Lines Travel Tuesday is running its biggest-ever premium cabin sale for Premium Select, Comfort+, and Delta One First Class for travel through early March*. Additionally, SkyMiles members (free to join) earn double bonus points. A round-trip purchase is not required. Book by November 29 for December 1-March 8 travel. Blackout Dates: December 14-January 8. British Airway’s Black Friday Vacation sale runs through November 28. Discounts are offered when you book a flight + a hotel – or – a flight + a rental car. Valid on trips taken through June. London Fly/Drive packages from $698 per person, based on two traveling together. Other sample rates include a round-trip flight and five nights at the 4* Hilton Olympia hotel from $849 per person from Los Angeles and from $899 departing New York-JFK, DC IAD or Chicago. You can book your vacation now with a low deposit and pay later, interest-free. There’s nothing to do but choose a date and place as discounts are automatically applied.

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is pricing round-trip flights between the U.S. and several destinations in Scandinavia from $375 between November 21 and 28 for January 15 through April. SAS’s U.S. gateway airports include New York, DC, Los Angeles, Miami, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

Alaska Airlines offers fares from $39 for Cyber Monday! These deals end on November 29.

Individual Hotels & Resorts

Ski destinations rarely go on sale, but through December 17, about a dozen hotels in Aspen will offer rooms from $150 a night, and the Aspen Snowmass ski resort will sell $88 lift tickets — normally $189 — for trips from Thanksgiving to December 22 (2023).

Topnotch Resort in Stowe, Vermont is offering a 30% off deal for Cyber Monday, and High Peaks Resort in Lake Placid, New York, is offering the fifth night free.

Salmon Falls Resort in Ketchikan is famous for world-class salmon fishing and adventure excursions and is offering 30% off rates starting at $945 per person, per night for their all-inclusive adventure packages, which include lodging, meals and activities, including fully guided fishing, bear viewing via float plane, eco-kayaking, ziplining and much more. The deal must be booked by December 1. Valid on May 1-September 30 stays.
