10-night Alaska cruises from $649

Enjoy an Alaska cruise for as low as $75 per night!

One of the most economical ways to plan an Alaskan cruise is to set your sights on ships that depart and end in Vancouver, British Columbia. The main reason is the extra you’ll pay for airfare from your hometown. Rather than facing round-trip rates of $800 or more to Anchorage (from most cities) — rates to Vancouver are surprisingly affordable! Rates average $265 to $375 round-trip from dozens of gateway airports — even throughout the peak summer travel season.

The next best reason is the attraction of the city itself for a pre- or post-cruise exploration. Vancouver Island stretches 285 miles, from the colonial capital of Victoria to windswept beaches and rocky headlands at its northern tip. Along with eclectic communities to be explored, the rugged natural paradise offers old-growth forests, snowcapped mountains, world-class whale watching, birding, and fishing.

But now for the Alaska cruise deals! Here are some bargain per person rates for travel as soon as next month, during peak summer and late summer. Each cruise offer is round-trip from Vancouver.

Due to the number of must-see points of interest, consider taking it slower with these 10- and 14-night sailings.

The Celebrity Eclipse 10-night Inside Passage cruise sails May 9. Ports include Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, Juneau and Victoria. Rates from $649, inside stateroom. Taxes, fees and port expenses are an additional $218.57.

You’ll get bragging rights along with the 10-night Alaska adventure aboard Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth. Ports include Twin Sawyer Glaciers, Juneau, Skagway, Hubbard Glacier, Icy Strait Point, Sitka, Ketchikan and Victoria. Rates from $999 per person. axes, fees and port expenses are an additional $212.99. Rates of $1,099 per person offered on the May 31 sailing (same route).

A two-week, 14-night Alaska cruise aboard Princess Cruises Golden Princess departs May 18. Ports of call on this Voyage of the Glaciers Grand Adventure include Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, College Fjord, Whittier, and Yakutat Bay. Rates from $899 per person for an Oceanview stateroom. Taxes, fees and port expenses are an additional $360.

Per person rates for the 14-night Golden Princess departures on August 3, 17 and 31 from $1,049 with rates of $529 for third and fourth guests sharing the same stateroom. Taxes, fees and port expenses are an additional $360.
