It’s back! Viking River Cruises is running a promotion where select all-inclusive European voyages start from $1,999 per person on select itineraries (standard cabins) through June 30. Plus, some have free round trip international airfares from many U.S. gateways — or reduced airfare as low as $599 round-trip from your departure airport.

Sample voyages:

  • 2023 Danube Christmas Delights: 8-day Passau to Budapest, 6 guided tours through four countries, from $2,499 with $799 airfare offer
  • Romantic Danube: 8-day Regensburg to Budapest, 6 guided tours through four countries, from $1,999
  • Rhine Getaway: 8-day Amsterdam to Basel, 6 guided tours through four countries, from $1,999
  • Cities of Light: 12-day Paris to Prague, 10 guided tours through four countries, from $3,499 with $599 airfare offer
  • Paris to the Swiss Alps: 12-day Paris to Zurich, 10 guided tours through four countries, from $3,499 with free airfare offer on select dates, while available
  • European Sojourn: 23-day journey exploring eight countries in Western, Central and Eastern Europe while cruising the Rhine, Main and Danube, from $7,299 with free airfare, while available

Here are a few of the many inclusive amenities and features on a Viking River Cruise:

  • One complimentary shore excursion in every port of call
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Enrichment lectures
  • Beer, wine & soft drinks with onboard lunch & dinner
  • 24-hour specialty coffees, teas & bottled water
  • Port taxes & fees
  • River-view stateroom with luxury linens & pillows
  • Premium Freyja toiletries; plush robes & slippers
  • Stateroom steward & twice-daily housekeeping

But non-cruisers or first-time cruisers might love to know that this is what Viking is not:

  • No casinos
  • No children under 18
  • No umbrella drinks
  • No photography sales or art auctions
  • No inside staterooms
  • No smoking
  • No waiting in lines
  • No formal nights, butlers, or white gloves

What are Viking’s cancellations policies? Once cancellation notice is received the following charges will apply:

  • 121 days or more is $100 per person
  • 120-90 days is 15% of full fare
  • 89-60 days is 35% of full fare
  • 59-30 days is 50% of full fare
  • 29-0 days is 100% of full fare
  • Full Fare is defined as the full cost of any cruise, land or air component purchased from Viking (exceptions apply for Viking’s World Cruise).

Viking offers the opportunity to purchase the Viking Travel Protection Plan when you purchase the plan within 14 days of your initial deposit/payment for your cruise. This plan allows you to cancel your Viking travel arrangements before your scheduled departure for any reason and receive a Viking Cruises Voucher for the cancellation penalty amount. Viking’s Travel Protection Plan also covers your flights purchased through Viking. (Not available for Canadian residents.)

As with any cruise, we strongly suggest you book with a certified travel professional. He or she may be able to find you even better deals and assist you through the final payment process and answer any questions you may have before you sail (and a lot quicker than contacting the cruise line directly). Find a cruise travel agent in your neighborhood at CLIA, Cruise Lines International Association.
