Delta Air Lines offers a super sale to Dublin, Ireland from the gateways of Boston or New York City. Round-trip Basic Economy rates start in the $400s from either city in the fall and spring — and even over the Thanksgiving, year-end holiday dates and St. Patrick’s Day (March 17)! Dublin is a warm welcoming city, known for its friendly folk. It is voted Europe’s fourth most popular city break destination, behind London, Paris and Rome. The combination of elegant Georgian architecture along with a number of historic museums, parks and art galleries makes it one of Europe’s most attractive capitals. The city center is easily explored on foot, while the Luas tram system and the suburban rail system, the DART, provide excellent transport links wherever you wish to go. Dublin retains a small-town feel that never fails to charm visitors.

Be sure to leave several hours between flights since you’re likely changing airport terminals or concourses. If you’re nervous about a same-day connection, why not spend a pre-night or a post-night in New York or Boston?
If you want to explore beyond Dublin, I can highly recommend checking out the many tour options from Rabbie’s Tours. Take a few extra nights or a couple of weeks with affordably priced tours that are taken with a minibus or by rail. Rabbies will permit you to book your own hotels along the tour route (within a reasonable distance from towns).
What I don’t recommend is a rental car unless you have some experience with windy, twisty roads just barely wide enough for two mini cars or one giant tour bus.
