These flights to Norway & Sweden are CHEAP!
Scott’s Cheap Flights just posted a deal to Scandinavia for travel late October through March 2018, including Thanksgiving on some routes, but excluding Christmas and New Year’s Eve. However, you’ll want to hurry if you want to grab this deal! Scott says he thinks these fares will last a few days. You’ll fly Norwegian if you decide to book it, which means bags and meals will cost a little extra.
Quick tips for flying Norwegian: If you want to check a bag, it’s around $45 each way, or if you want to check a bag, choose your own seat, and get their “Nice & Tasty menu,” it’ll be $90 each way. Choose the “LowFare+” option if you want the extras! Here’s a link to the bag fee chart on Norwegian. (Of course, Clark recommends steering clear of checking a bag whenever possible so there’s no chance of the airline loosing them! Use this packing trick to avoid a checked bag fee.)
And here’s a pro tip from Scott if you want to see the northern lights: “If you want to give yourself the best chance of catching the northern lights, hop a budget flight up to Tromso, a gorgeous city in the Arctic Circle and host to the world’s northernmost brewery).”
Fares like this normally run about $700 and up, so if you end up buying these you’ll save several hundred dollars. Search Google Flights to find your best dates and best price! Above is a sample flight from Newburgh, NY to Bergen December 3 through December 8.
Round-trip prices to Scandinavia
Bergen (BGO):
- Newburgh (SWF) – $179
Oslo (OSL):
- Fort Lauderdale (FLL)- $281
- Las Vegas (LAS) – $292
- Los Angeles (LAX) – $292
- New York City (JFK) – $281
- Orlando (MCO) – $293
Stockholm (ARN):
- Las Vegas (LAS) – $287
- Los Angeles (LAX) – $293
- New York City (JFK) – $273
- Oakland (OAK) – $287
If you don’t see your city listed, try finding a cheap fare to one of the above cities using Kayak.com/explore or Google Flights and see if it’s still a deal. Southwest Airlines often offers deals which include 2 checked bags and no change fees, and Frontier Airlines often offers one-way fares as low as $20. (Note that Southwest Airlines does not show up in Google Flights, so you’ll want to be sure to check there too!)
