Getaways during the fall and winter are a perfect time to unwind after a busy summer, and PLAY wants to make these trips more affordable with a Memorial Day sale.
The Icelandic budget carrier PLAY is observing Memorial Day with a special flash sale, which offers the chance to book one-way flights to Europe for as low as $97. This promotion runs through May 27 with discounts on travel from August through December. The sale also includes discounts to some of the continent’s most sought-after destinations, including such as France, England, Iceland, Ireland, Germany, Greece and others.
The sale includes $97 one-way flights to Reykjavik and $129 one-way flights to other popular European cities, such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, London and Paris. These discounted flights are available from all of PLAY’s U.S. gateway airports, which include Baltimore/Washington (BWI), Boston, New York Stewart International Airport (SWF) and Washington Dulles.
Other sample fares include $133 from Baltimore to Dublin; $136 from Boston to London and $140 from Boston or NYC to Paris. Rates from $256 are available on select dates from New York or Boston to Athens, Greece.
As a low-cost carrier, PLAY’s pricing is per flight, or one-way — but a round-trip ticket purchase is required. Expect to pay more for additional services as checked baggage and food and drinks. This lets you customize your flying experience according to your budget and preferences. The extra costs for seat selection range from $4-$50 depending on the seat location. There’s a premium charge for extra legroom seats. Seat fees are applicable for each individual flight.
Exact travel dates and blackout periods vary depending upon your destination. For instance, flights to Iceland, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, London and Paris are available on Mondays from August 19 to November 25, and from December 2 to December 16.
All PLAY’s transatlantic flights include a brief layover in Iceland. You can turn your layover into a multi-day stopover for no additional cost and get the most out of your magical journey via Iceland. You can stay in Iceland for up to 10 days in a stopover booking. A stopover booking does not include accommodation in Iceland. This stopover option will be offered to you during the booking process.
