Ride the rails with a friend for free!

Buy one ticket on Amtrak’s Northeast Regional or Acela, and bring a companion for free. Purchase these promo tickets through September 30 for travel through December 12 (Fridays and Sundays not eligible).

The Acela is Amtrak’s high-speed service along the Northeast Corridor between Washington DC and Boston via 16 intermediate stops, including Providence, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York City.

Short and medium-distance trains offer coach seating featuring wide, comfortable reclining seats with ample legroom, a fold-down tray and individual reading light.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Regional Coach class cars have 2×2 seating with reading lamps and fold-out tray tables.

Amtrak offers spacious seating, no middle seats, plenty of legroom and four bags for free. And with a suite of enhanced cleaning procedures and safety measures — like a masks required policy and fresh air exchange every 4–5 minutes — you can rest easier along the way.

Plus, the rail operator is limiting bookings so the only person sitting next to you will be part of your “quaranteam.”

Note: Amtrak’s complimentary Wi-Fi supports general web browsing, however, limited bandwidth does not support streaming music, streaming video or downloading large files.

Here are sample one-way fares for Acela / Northeast Regional:

  • New York – Washington DC – $129 / $69
  • Boston – New York – $99 / $69
  • New York – Providence – $89 / $66
  • Philadelphia – New York – $99 / $56
  • Washington DC – Philadelphia – $99 / $56
  • Baltimore – New York – $129 / $69
  • Boston – Washington DC – $129 / $104
  • Boston – Philadelphia – $129 / $69

A 3-day advance purchase is required. Additional blackout dates on Fridays and Sundays include November 24, 25 and 30.

Cancellation fees are waived on ticket purchases made through September 30.
