(Editor’s note: The travel industry is currently under great stress, and the money you pay now may be lost if companies go out of business. See more here.)

If there’s a hotel stay in your future, check out an offer from Marriott for Marriott Bonvoy members (free to join).

Now through June 30, 2020, receive 60% more points when you buy up to 100,000 points through the promotion’s Buy Points or Gift Points page. That’s twice the usual annual limit. Plus, bonus points earned with this promotion do not count toward your annual Bonvoy member limit.

Points may be purchased in increments of 1,000, with a minimum purchase of 2,000 points required (that’s $12.50 per 1,000 points). Here are a few examples:

  • 10,000 points + 6,000 Bonus points for $125
  • 15,000 + 9,000 Bonus points for $187.50
  • 40,000 + 24,000 Bonus points for $500

The number of required points for a free night varies widely from 5,000 per night to 70,000 for a luxury stay (Off Peak).

Use your points for free nights at any of Marriott’s 7,000+ hotels and resorts worldwide.

Here’s a chart that shows the points you’ll need for different rates based on the hotel categories of Select (such as Courtyard, Fairfield, Moxy), Premium (examples include Sheraton, Westin, Meridian) and Luxury (JW Marriott, St. Regis, Ritz Carlton and more).

Choose from 8 categories — from a standard Marriott branded property to the highest level of comforts. Once you’ve chosen a property you’ll see the required points for a free night in 3 levels — Off Peak, Standard and Peak.

Note: After purchase, base points will be deposited into members’ accounts first while Bonus points will be deposited up to 48 hours after that initial deposit.

Here are the current cancellation policies in place for all Marriott International hotels worldwide:

For guests with existing reservations for any future arrival date, including reservations with pre-paid rates that are typically more restrictive, full changes or cancellations are permitted without a charge up to 24 hours prior to arrival, as long as the change or cancellation is made by June 30. Please note that any changes to existing reservations will be subject to availability and any rate differences.

For guests making new reservations for any future arrival date, including reservations with pre-paid rates, between today and June 30, the reservation may be changed or canceled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date.

Any date changes to a reservation will be subject to availability and any rate differences.
