Members of the military “have dedicated themselves to service, and deserve our thanks and our respect. To honor that service, we have negotiated deep discounts for personal travel, across flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises and more,” says Brett Keller, CEO of Priceline.
The Department of Defense selected Priceline as the new online platform (after competitive bidding) to offer negotiated leisure travel deals exclusively for the military community.
Exclusive savings will be offered at American Forces Travel on flights, car rentals, cruises, vacation homes, bundled packages and up to a 60% savings on hotels. The choices will be vast — for instance, more than 1 million hotel deals will be available in more than 71,000 destinations around the world.
The online travel portal also offers a dedicated helpdesk line 24/7/365.
American Forces Travel will be open to more than 6.5 million active and retired members of the five branches of the U.S. military community – including the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Others who are eligible include Medal of Honor recipients; American Red Cross and USO paid personnel serving outside of the states and Department of Defense civilians serving within and outside of the states. Family members of all of these groups will also be able to use the site.
