Norse Atlantic Airways is celebrating the first anniversary of its inaugural transatlantic flight between Oslo and New York-JFK. The airline now serves seven U.S. airports.

To mark the occasion, Norse Atlantic has launched a weeklong global sale with fares between the U.S. and Europe starting from $129 one-way. Purchase tickets through June 21.

The Norse Atlantic global sale sample one-way rates in Economy Light (rates slightly higher to the U.S.):

  • New York-Oslo from $129 one-way
  • Fort Lauderdale and Miami-Oslo -from $149 one-way
  • Los Angeles-Oslo from $189 one-way
  • New York-London Gatwick from $139 one-way
  • Fort Lauderdale and Miami-London from $159 one-way

  • New York-Rome from $189 one-way

Applicable travel dates vary by destination. The deepest discounts are offered on departures in August or through early November. View all valid travel dates and blackout dates here.

Let’s look at all of the optional fees that may apply to an Economy Light fare (fees apply each way):

  • Free carry-on bag that fits under a seat (17 x 14 x 8)
  • Larger cabin and checked bag fees $35-$65
  • Advance seat selection $5-$120
  • Free flight check-in online; $10-$40 at the airport
  • Snacks and drinks from $3.50 and up
  • Meals, including specialty meals $20-$30

During the booking process, you will be offered the opportunity to upgrade to Economy Classic which permits passengers to bring aboard a second piece of hand luggage, as well as a checked bag weighing up to 50lbs. Ticket change fees are lower, and a meal service is also included on transatlantic flights. Another option will be upgrading to Economy Plus which gets you extra baggage and a meal service — and priority boarding, seat selection, and no change fees apart from the fare difference. There’s one more fare type: Economy Flextra. Which category works best for you? (Here’s how to pack light.)

Norse offers a 24-hour cancellation policy. You are permitted a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of booking. Go to the ‘Your trips’ section on the website flynorse.com. Bookings made within 7 days of a flight are non-refundable.
