Why I Dig this Deal:

A mini-vacation might give you the feeling of being miles from home!
Clara Bosonetto | September 7, 2023

If you’re not wanting to venture far from home, here’s a way to keep it cool and close to home or wherever you roam.

Resort Pass gives you a chance to spend a day poolside in a fancy resort or hotel. This might make a fun day trip for the girls, the guys (bachelors/bachelorettes), a romantic day out in a private and swanky cabana, or just a day of solo pampering. In addition to a Day Pass, select hotels and resorts offer a Work Pass that includes a room for the day (morning to evening) along with pool privileges. It’s a fun option should you have budget overnight digs and want to experience a 4- or 5-star property and the amenities.

Choose from over 1,000 hotels in 250 cities across 35 states. The participating properties can be found in Atlanta and various locations in Hawaii, Arizona, California, and Texas โ€” and including New York City.

Here’s a sampling from a few hotels and resorts:

Southern charm meets cosmopolitan at W Atlanta-Downtown. Lounge poolside, listen to live music Friday and Saturday, enjoy bites and cocktails from the poolside bar, and WETBAR on the weekends while taking in the stunning skyline views on the 16th floor. The Day Pass includes the use of the heated rooftop pool, poolside food and drinks service from Wet Bar, complimentary Wi-Fi and valet parking. Adults from $50; Sunday Workout on WET from $30.

Escape the Orlando heat and step into paradise at the 1,500-acre Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, adjacent to Walt Disney World. Enjoy the swimming pools where a swim-through rock grotto will lead you to an impressive suspension bridge. A Day Pass includes the use of the half-acre outdoor pool with 12 waterfalls, waterslide tower, and water jet splash zone, 2 whirlpools, poolside food and beverage service and complimentary Wi-Fi. Day guests can rent boat and bike rentals and water sports equipment on the 21-acre Lake Windsong. There’s also a nine-hole pitch ‘n putt course, 5 hole mini-putt putt golf course and game room. Self-parking is available for $30. A Day Pass starts from $40. Day guests can also purchase a Work Pass (from $99) that includes a guest room with all the Day Pass amenities. Pool Cabanas for four start from $350.

The luxurious Grand Hyatt in Atlanta’s Buckhead is a true urban escape with its Japanese Zen Garden and a 30-foot waterfall. Quiet day rooms offer work essentials while leisure amenities such as the outdoor heated pool, all-day dining, and fitness center are available for your enjoyment.

A Day Pass starts at just $20 per adult at the iconic Andaz West Hollywood. Bask in the sun at the highest rooftop pool in Los Angeles, complete with sweeping views of the city. Included is the use of the heated rooftop pool, pool chairs, loungers and premium comfort daybeds (first come, first serve), pool bar service on weekends, food and drinks available for purchase from lobby market and comp Wi-Fi. Self parking is additional up to a max of $55. Upgrade a stay with a Cabana for up to 4 people (all amenities included in the Day Pass) with comfort sofa seating and two lounge chairs from $250.

Daycationapp.com is another source for day spa and pool days. Although not as extensive a list, selections are offered in both domestic and international locations โ€” such as Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, the BVI’s, Mexico, the Bahamas and a few Caribbean islands.

Each property will have its own cancel policy, but most offer a free cancellation (full credit; not a full refund) made the night before your booked date (before midnight). If you must cancel a reservation, ResortPass.com and DaycationApp.com will keep track of the credit in your account to use for future use.

Additionally, per person rates will vary depending on peak or off-peak seasons and/or day of the week (weekdays are likely to be the least expensive). No outside coolers, food or drinks allowed. Many a la carte options such as food, beverages and activities require a separate purchase (debit cards are not accepted).
