Bed Bath & Beyond is testing a new loyalty program, which Business Insider reports could replace the 20% off coupons that you get in the mail all the time.
The report suggests that the aggressive coupon strategy has backfired for the retailer, so a change is needed.

Could these famous coupons be replaced?
According to the company’s website, the Beyond+ program is in a pilot period and customers can only join via invitation at this time.
Here are the highlights:
- 20% off entire purchase, in-store or online
- Free standard shipping with no minimums
- Annual $29 membership fee
The Business Insider report questions how the retailer could ever expand this program, which has a membership fee, while continuing to offer 20% off coupons for free.
But in the meantime, those coupons are still arriving in mailboxes across the country.
And if you didn’t already know, Bed Bath & Beyond is one of many retailers that will generally accept your coupon past the expiration date, according to Rather-Be-Shopping.com.
The company has not responded to Business Insider’s story.
