Amazon has dropped the free shipping order minimum from $49 to $35 for those who don't have a Prime membership.
The online retailer quietly made the move after Walmart lowered the minimum purchase amount for free two-day shipping on two million items to $35, no membership fee required.

With the change Amazon has made, shoppers who don't have a Prime membership will only need to spend $35 on eligible items to qualify for free shipping, but it's not two-day shipping. Orders will arrive in 5 to 8 business days.
Any order including $25 or more of eligible books also can be shipped at no charge.
"Add at least $35 of eligible items or $25 of eligible books (in which case all other eligible items in the order also ship free) to your Shopping Cart," Amazon's policy states. "Any item with 'FREE Shipping' messaging on the product detail page, that is fulfilled and shipped by Amazon, is eligible and contributes to your free shipping order minimum."
To get unlimited free two-day shipping with Amazon, you'll need a Prime membership. It costs $99 a year or $10.99 a month.
