Amtrak Winter Park Express train from $39 one-way

Amtrak’s Winter Park Express, with service between Denver Union Station and the Winter Park Resort, will offer 40 round trips this winter season. The new season of the Ski Train will be offered each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from January 12 through the weekend of March 31, including two holiday Mondays: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 15) and Presidents’ Day (February 19) plus two ‘bonus’ Thursdays: March 14 and March 21.

Pack your skis as a carry-on for no additional charge. During boarding, skis will be placed in a dedicated baggage storage. Additionally, each traveler may bring two personal items (less than 25lbs and measuring no more than 14x11x7 inches), two carry-on items (less than 50 pounds and measuring no more than 28x22x14 inches) PLUS and two checked bags (less than 50 pounds and measuring up to 75 inches total LWH).

You could get in a decent day of skiing as Winter Park Express departs downtown Denver at 7:00am and arrives at 9:00am. Return to Denver from Winter Park Resort at 4:30pm and arrive Denver at 6:40pm.

Adult one-way rates from $39 to $59. Fares for kids age 2-12 are 50% off.

Everyday discounts are available for seniors, students, members of the military and customers with a disability.

Ski or ride more than 3,000 acres of terrain. Winter Park lift tickets for all ages range from $119 to $220 per day. Save up to 40% when you pre-book in advance.

From Atlanta, fly to Denver on budget carriers for as little as $29 each way on trips through early March. Legacy airlines from $69-$89 with peak dates averaging $109 (United nonstop). When searching airfare deals on Google.com/flights, choose one-way vs round-trip. You will often find the lowest fares will be flying on different airlines to and or from Denver.
