Amtrak: USA Rail Pass offers 10 rides in 30 days

Skip the hassles of airports and ride the rails this year! Hop from town to town, across the country, or plan long weekend getaways.

Amtrak is currently selling 10 rail segments (coach only) that you can use within 30 days for $449 — and to your choice of over 500 destinations. This deal represents a $50 savings per segment!

The pass is valid for 120 days after purchase but is valid for 30 days after you use the first pass segment.

A travel segment occurs any time you board and disembark a train. If your trip involves making one connection, you will use two segments of your USA Rail Pass. This color-coded map (thanks, GroundedLifeTravel.com) will help you determine how far you can go per segment. Each named train is it’s own color so when you switch colors you’ll use a segment.

This USA Rail Pass must be purchased on or before January 25.

Here are some important details, but read all of the fine print before a pass purchase:

• When traveling on a USA Rail Pass, the traveler must have a ticket and a reservation for each train boarded.
• Pass holders must confirm each trip with RideReserve by making reservations (train and date) on Amtrak.com, the Amtrak app or with an
• Amtrak agent prior to traveling.
• Valid on all Amtrak trains except Auto Train, Acela, Thruway bus connections (7000-7999 series) and the Canadian portion of trains operated
• jointly by Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada.
• Upgrades to Business class or private room accommodations are not available.
• Travel over the the same route is limited to four one-way trips between two cities, and to all cities in between.
• USA Rail Pass is non-transferable.
• An unused rail pass is fully refundable if requested within the pass validity period (120 days) and no segments have been booked.
