Travel for free with a friend!

Southwest Airlines is rewarding its Rapid Rewards members big time with a new promotion that lets you take along one designated companion free every time you fly through February 2021!

Here’s how it works:

  • Members must register in advance of travel and purchase a flight at Southwest.com on or before September 24.
  • To be eligible, complete travel on that ticket (it can be one-way!) on or before November 15.
  • After that first trip, a companion can fly free with you from January 6 to February 28 (one-way or round-trip).
  • You may change your designated companion up to three times while you have the promotional Companion Pass.
  • The companion ticket is free but taxes and fees must be paid (from $5.50 each way).

Not already a Rapids Rewards member? It’s free to join and register in advance of your ticket purchase here.

This is an extraordinary offer as the Southwest Companion Pass usually requires 100 flights or 125,000 qualifying points in a year.

Another plus: Southwest never charges a cancellation fee. If you must cancel your trip in advance of your departure date, the purchase amount is banked for you to use on future travel within a year.

And yet one more plus: Southwest Airlines still allows its customers to check two pieces of luggage — free!

Southwest Airlines requires all passengers to wear face masks. The airline promises to keep the middle seats open on flights through November 30. Here are the other procedures the carrier is taking to ensure your well-being and comfort.
